The cold recycling of asphalt pavement is a new complete system of old pavement reconstruction by using the integrated recycling equipment, adding materials, one-time mixing and forming process, and paving the new structural surface. The quality of recycled pavement is directly related to the factors of recycled technology, recycled materials, recycled mix design and surface structure. This paper discusses the construction technology and quality control of cold recycled base.

1. Construction technology of cold recycling base

Combined with the renovation project of Wuyi Road, this paper discusses the construction technology and quality control of cold recycling base, so as to provide reference experience for the popularization and application of cold recycling base in Kaifeng City. Engineering practice has proved that as long as the scientific organization and strict control, the road performance of cold recycling base is better, and it has more advantages than conventional maintenance methods.

2. Preparation

All preparations before regeneration are in place before construction to ensure the normal progress of construction period. The main contents include: Personnel Preparation, machinery preparation, material preparation, traffic coordination and logistics support.

3. Material requirements:

Portland or ordinary portland cement with strength grade of 32.5, initial setting time ≥ 3h, final setting time ≤ 10h and ≥ 6h is selected. Cement should have good workability, low hydration, high late strength, durability, corrosion resistance and crack resistance.

4. Mechanical requirements:

The construction process of the project is completed by the regeneration unit, which includes: cold regeneration host, cement slurry truck, grader, roller, etc.

5. Personnel requirements:

Engineering and technical personnel and mechanical operators should be trained in cold regeneration and pass the examination before they can take up their posts.
